EDUCATION & TRAINING

At Kamara’s Heart, our educational vision extends beyond basic schooling – we aim to create comprehensive pathways for children to learn, grow, and become capable citizens who can succeed in life. We place special emphasis on empowering girls through education and providing vocational training opportunities for the entire community.

CURRENT OPERATIONS:

Monthly school operations supporting 300 students and 15 teachers, including:

  • Free tuition, books, and stationery
  • Hygiene and sanitary products
  • Teacher salaries
  • Weekly breakfast program
  • Water well maintenance ($600 annually)

Our teachers are paid a salary of $35 Australian dollars a month.

Kamara’s has bought sewing machines to make free school uniforms and sustainable sanitary pads. Over 300 uniforms have been made.

We can provide more sewing machines to make free school uniforms and allow adults to gain vocational skills at the same time. Project Cost is $1500 per year

LEARNING INITIATIVES:

  • Youth seminars and leadership conferences ($1500 yearly)
  • Emerging skills and vocational training program ($2,500 yearly)
  • Women in leadership training for about 10 women ($2000 yearly)
  • Reading club in Ghana preparing children for formal education ($10,000 yearly)
  • Study programs in local Sierra Leone languages, combining literacy with biblical studies

Our vocational academy will be a cornerstone of our educational mission, offering apprenticeships in diverse skill sets including:

  • Tie dye
  • Sewing
  • Mechanics
  • Computers and IT
  • Construction and masonry
  • Mentorship and management training for women

These programs are designed to lead directly to future employment opportunities, helping break the cycle of poverty through practical education.
